Principals of
the Year
Principals of the Year
at both the elementary and secondary schools were chosen by their
peers. This year, Pamela Davis, Principal at O.M. Roberts
Elementary, was selected as the Elementary Principal of the Year.
Pam has been in the education field for 24 years and is currently
serving her fifth year as principal of O.M. Roberts Elementary. Pam
states that "the quest for continual improvements, identifying
concerns, formulating action plans, and a commitment to finding
solutions," led her to this leadership role.
Gary Jones, Principal of Brazosport High School, was selected as the
Secondary Principal of the Year. Gary is completing his 33rd year in
education and has had the privilege of serving as principal of
Brazosport High School for the past three years. Gary says his
philosophy of education centers on the belief that "we first must
build the relationships with the students to have the capability to
express the relevance of the work needed for students to be
successful with a rigorous curriculum."
Both honorees will be attending a Principal Recognition Dinner
hosted by the Region IV Education Service Center held annually to
recognize leadership, service, and dedication to young people.

Teachers of the Year
Elementary and secondary
"Teacher of the Year" for BISD was announced at the annual Employee
Recognition dinner. The two recipients were selected from teachers
representing individual campuses throughout our district.
Sandra Consilio, from Jane Long Elementary, was selected as
Elementary Teacher of the Year. Sandra teaches fourth grade and has
5 years in education.
Rita Cundieff, from Freeport Intermediate School, was selected as
Secondary Teacher of the Year. Rita teaches ESOL and has 9 years of
experience.
In addition to receiving recognition from the district, both
recipients will be honored and recognized at the Region IV Education
Service Center Teacher of the Year Banquet in Houston.
