SAIL (Student Accelerated Instruction and Learning) is a true alternative
education program in BISD. The goal of the SAIL program is to provide rigorous
yet accelerated instruction to students who are at risk of not completing a high
school degree. The SAIL class is designed to provide a flexible, self-paced
learning environment for high school students. Through small classes, intensive
counseling, and teacher support students who have dropped out or are at risk of
dropping out school are provided a unique opportunity to earn their high school
diplomas.
The SAIL classes are 8:00-12:00 and 12:30-4:30, Monday through Friday. Students
who complete all credits as required by BISD and the State of Texas and who pass
all exit level TAKS, graduate from the program with a high school diploma.
