Counseling at the Lighthouse focuses on guidance and career
counseling. Some of the issues
addressed by the counselor are peer relationships, attitude adjustments,
difficulties with authority, anger management, coping skills, and interpersonal
relationships.
In addition to academics and educational goal setting, speakers are
invited to provide career orientations.
In the Evening School component the main focus for the counselor is academic counseling and dropout prevention.
The students in both programs benefit from the counselor's interactions.
Because of the challenges that students at
the Lighthouse Learning Center confront, counseling is an essential and integral part of the
educational setting.
