Mrs. Comley & Mrs. Potter
My name is Mrs. Potter. I am the librarian here at A. P. Beutel. My aide is Mrs. Comley. We work with the teachers and students to foster a love of reading.
Kindergarten, first and second grades come to the library weekly for a library lesson or activity and to check out books. Third grade and fourth grade come to the library twice a week a library lesson or activityand may check out two books.
The library is open every day at 7:30 for Accelerated Reader book tests.
The Accelerated Reader program is an important part of our curriculum because it helps to motivate students to read books on their reading level therefore strengthening their reading skills. Students take computerized tests and earn book points. Second, third and fourth grade students may spend their points at the AR store in the library for prizes. The AR store is open once a month. First grade teachers award their students for points in their classrooms.
