Grading Policies

Early Childhood
/ = Skills introduced but not mastered
+ = Skills introduced and mastered

Pre-Kindergarten
+ = Skills observed by the teacher
- = Skills still being developed
=Blank space indicates skill has not been introduced

Kindergarten
E = Excellent
S = Satisfactory
I = Improvement needed
U = Unsatisfactory

1st Grade
 Number grades are given on the report card. The letter grades are as follows:
E = Excellent
S = Satisfactory
I = Improvement needed
U = Unsatisfactory

2nd Grade
Any paper with a number grade has been recorded in the grade book. Check marks, stars, "E", etc. have been graded but the grade was not recorded. Students will be given a number grade on the report card. This is an average of all the grades taken in that subject for that nine weeks. Conduct grades will receive an E, S, I, U.

3rd Grade
Test grades will count double in most cases. There will be at least 9 grades recorded from daily work every reporting period. Math tests will count 50% of the Math grade average.
Academic progress will be communicated to parents on a weekly basis. Problems in behavior, work completion or following directions will be reported as needed. Students will be given a number grade on the report card. This is an average of all the grades taken in that subject for that nine weeks. Conduct grades will receive an E, S, I, U.

4th Grade
Test grades will count double in most cases. The Science grade will consist of both Science and Health grades. The Language grade will consist of Grammar and Writing. Students will be given a number grade on the report card. This is an average of all the grades taken in that subject for that nine weeks. Conduct grades will receive an E, S, I, U.
