Information about ESL

ESL students

 

ESL is a school program designed to help students effectively learn and speak the English language. ESL stands for English as a Second Language. ESL teachers first identify the needs of each individual student. Then, according to their consideration, the student is placed depending on the English knowledge he or she has.  In the past,  ESL has consisted of students from a variety of countries including Holland, Vietnam, Germany, China, Ecuador, Colombia, Guatemala, Venezuela, and Mexico.

 

     After successfully completing the ESL program numerous students continue to excel in extracurricular activities such as:

 

  • National Honor Society

  • Spanish National Honor Society

  • Brazoswood High School Choir

Current and past ESL students have also received awards like

 

  • Perfect Attendance Award

  • Who's Who Among American High School Juniors Award

  • Who's Who Among American High Schools Award
