New! Try
the new Beta Acrobat Scholarship form. You need the latest Acrobat Reader
to do this.
You can tab from field to field and enter data or chose responses to drop-down
boxes. For longer responses, your text must fit in the boxes. If you need
to type more information, please type "see attached" in the box and finish your
answers on an attached sheet of paper. When finished, press the print
button and choose your printer. These cannot be submitted online. However, if
you wish, you should be able to fill in your data and save it for future use, if
you read directions carefully for saving the PDF. See below.
If you do not have Adobe Reader, download it here.
Or, use the
web version (both are linked below). To fill out this form, simply move
your cursor up to the first textbox. As you move your cursor over the textbox,
the cursor will change into an I-beam cursor. Click on the box when this
happens. Now you can type in the textbox. To move to the next box, either hit
the [tab] key or repeat the above process to move.
*Note* Several of the questions
on the web application require free response answers. The boxes in which
you may type your answer may appear to contain as much as you would like
to type. However, all of the questions will only print 3 lines with the
exception of the third question, which prints 4 lines. In order to keep all of
your text visible, please be brief and write only 3 or 4 lines in these text
boxes. If you need to type more information, please type "see attached" in
the box and finish your answers on an attached sheet of paper.
After you have
completed either form, you must print it out. To do this, make sure that the
form is filled out exactly like you want it to be. Then, go to the File menu,
and select Print. This will print out the form onto one page and you can sign
it. (If it does not fit on one page when printed, you will need to change your
browser font size before printing: go to the View menu, select the Text Size
section, and the Medium or Smaller option.) Change the text as needed for each
scholarship application you wish to complete. Print after each.
How to use the Acrobat
PDF and save it with your data: To do this, you must be
on a computer where someone uses Outlook or Outlook Express for e-mail. Adobe
Professional makes it possible to save a copy of your form with data. However,
most people will be using Adobe Reader and it will give you warnings that it
cannot save your form with the data. Even though it says this, it can be
done.... not exactly easily, but it can be done. When your form is complete,
print using the Print button. Then, click the Submit button, which will open a
new email window in Outlook or Outlook Express with an attached file. The
attached file will be named something like scholarship_form_A_data.fdf.
Right-click on this file and choose Save As to save this file. Do not send
this email.
If you are having
problems, email me and I will do what I can to resolve the problem. If you
would like to give me feedback on the trial Acrobat version, please send email
to the webmaster link below.
