SECTION IV
Officers
Article I-Social Officers
A.
The social officers shall be President,
Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer, and Historian.
B.
Requirements
1.
Shall have been a member for one year.
2.
Shall complete all requirements as
determined by the director for elections.
3.
Shall be required to attend summer camp.
Article II-Duties of Social Officers
A.
President
1.
Shall take charge and preside at all
meetings.
2.
Shall appoint various committees for
social functions.
3.
Shall call special meeting with the
consent of the director.
4.
Shall issue demerits when appropriate.
B.
Vice-President
1.
Shall preside at meetings during the
President’s absence.
2.
Shall be the chairperson of various
committees.
3.
Shall see that thank-you notes, sympathy
cards, and flowers are sent out when necessary.
4.
Shall issue demerits when appropriate.
C.
Secretary
1.
Shall keep a record of all business.
2.
Shall keep a record of demerits and
absences of each member.
3.
Shall issue demerits when appropriate.
D.
Treasurer
1.
Shall assist the director in collection
of money for fund raising and other items.
2.
Shall collect funds as set up by the
team throughout the year.
3.
Shall issue demerits when appropriate.
E.
Historian
1.
Shall prepare articles on various drill
team activities for submission to school and local papers.
2.
Shall be responsible for preparing a
scrapbook the year she hold office.
3.
Shall issue demerits when appropriate.
Article III-Military Officers
A.
Military officers will be Major, 1st
Captain, and Captains.
B.
Prospective candidates for 1st
Captain and Captains shall be classified as Juniors or Sophomores and must have
been a member for at least one year.
C.
Prospective candidates for Major shall
be classified as a Junior and must have been a member for at least one year.
D.
Prospective candidates for Military
Officers shall complete all requirements as determined by the director for
try-outs.
Article IV-Duties of the Military Officers
A.
Major
1.
Shall be in charge of the organization
with director approval.
2.
Is directly responsible to the director
concerning all directions issued to the team.
3.
Shall be in charge if the director is
not present.
4.
Shall issue demerits when appropriate.
5.
Shall begin pre-school practices before
the remainder of the team.
6.
Shall be in charge of a squad.
7.
Shall report all absences of squad
members.
B.
First Captain
1.
Shall perform the duties of Major in her
absence.
2.
Shall be in charge of a squad.
3.
Shall report all absences of squad
members.
4.
Shall start pre-school practices before
the remainder of the team.
5.
Shall issue demerits when appropriate.
C.
Captains
1.
Shall be in charge of a squad.
2.
Shall report all absences of squad
members.
3.
Shall start pre-school practices before
the remainder of the team.
4.
Shall issue demerits when appropriate.
Article V-Vacancy of the Military Officers
A.
Any vacancy shall be filled at the
Director’s discretion.
Article VI-Belle Council & Chaplain
A.
The Belle Council shall consist of a
chairperson and a representative from the Senior, Junior, and Sophomore class.
B.
Requirements
1. Council Chairperson &
Chaplain
a.
Prospective candidates shall have been a
member for one year.
b.
Shall complete all requirements as
determined by the director for elections.
c.
Shall be required to attend summer camp.
2.
Class Representatives
a.
Shall be elected by members in their
respective classes at the end of the school year.
Article VII-Duties of the Belle Council & Chaplain
A.
Chairperson
1.
Shall oversee and organize motivational
activities for the team.
2.
Is not required to, but may, issue
demerits.
B.
Class Representatives
1.
Shall assist the chairperson in
motivational activities for the team.
2.
Shall represent their class at all
officer meetings and express grievances or problems of members.
C.
Chaplain
1.
Shall lead the group in voluntary prayer
upon request.
2.
Shall provide opportunities for team
motivation, encouragement, and voluntary prayer.
3.
Is not required to, but may, issue
demerits.
