SECTION VI
Practices and Performances
Article I
A.
Pre-school practices (one to two weeks
before school starts) are compulsory. Pre-camp practices will be approved by
the principal and will also be compulsory. Any unexcused absence from these
practices will result in that member being cut from a performance determined by
the director.
B.
Practice will be held every day during
the scheduled physical education period and practices will be held before and
after school as determined by the director. An absence from a practice may
result in replacement for that week’s performance at the director’s discretion.
C.
All members are required to attend
practice session whether they have been cut from a performance or not.
D.
All members should be prompt and
properly equipped. It is each girl’s responsibility to know times of each
practice and the proper uniform or prop needed.
E.
Each member shall direct entire
attention and concentration to officers and the director with a minimum of
talking.
F.
Members shall be willing to work hard,
take directions, and strive for performance.
G.
Hair must be securely out of face and be
secured back in a ponytail or French braid.
H.
If any absence, from a practice or
performance, is unexcused or not approved prior to the practice or performance
by the director, the member shall not perform the following game.
I.
All members must attend half
(1/2) of their scheduled classes on a school day (this includes field trips and
drill team) in order to participate in practice or performance.
J.
No member shall be able to
practice or perform for other reasons as determined to be appropriate by the
director.
Article II
A.
A member shall be considered tardy
at the time roll call starts.
B.
Members may receive excused
absences for personal illness, and for serious illness or death in the family.
Article III
A.
Members will be required to
participate at all activities in which the team participates as a whole despite
weather conditions as scheduled by the director.
B.
Members will be required to
participate in all summer practices which will begin two (2) weeks prior to
school and/or one (1) week prior to summer camp.
C.
All members must attend the Private
Camp held in August.
D.
All members are strongly encouraged
to attend any optional summer camps.
Article IV
A.
Members shall not drink or eat prior
to half time at an athletic event unless given permission by the director.
B.
Members’ friends are not allowed to
sit with the team.
C.
Members shall not wear their
uniforms to public places which would not be determined necessary as a stop to
or from a function or performance where the uniform is worn. (Members should
bring a change of clothes if going somewhere unnecessary to the purpose of the
team event.)
D.
Members of the team shall not leave
the group except for emergencies, then, only with the approval of the director.
E.
Members shall sit in assigned
position at all activities and follow the instructions of the major and/or
director.
F.
Each member must remain for the
entire event the team is participating in at that time.
G.
All members shall ride to the games
and competition on the bus provided. Members wishing to ride home with their
parents must be signed out at the activity through the director before being
released. If the students wish to ride home with adults other tan their
parents, an alternative transportation form must be filled out and notarizes
through the front office. This adult will then sign the student out at the
activity through the director. Students will only be released to adults..
H.
The hat and all other parts of the
uniform shall not be removed unless told to do so by the Major of director.
I.
No jewelry shall be worn at any
time during practice or performance.
J.
There shall be no talking after
the major gives orders to leave the stands unless answering a direct question of
the director or an officer.
K.
There shall be NO gum chewing at
any time.
L.
A member who is absent from
practice the day of a Friday game or the day before a Saturday game may not
perform at that game.
M.
No purses shall be carried into the
stands.
N.
Glasses should not be worn on the
field.
Article IV-Conduct in the Stands
A.
The team shall march in as a group
to all performances, unless told otherwise by the director.
B.
The team shall sit as a body, in
one section reserved for them, the entire length of the event.
C.
Members shall remain in their seats
and cheer at all athletic events where they are present.
D.
Members shall not talk to anyone
outside of the team without permission from the director or major.
E.
Members shall not turn around in
the stands (Except for Military Officers).
F.
Members shall always maintain good
sportsmanship.
