Standlee
Alan
Standlee is a social studies teacher at C.I.S. He is
married and has two children. Prior to coming to Clute he
taught for seventeen years at Freeport Intermediate.
Attending Stephen F. Austin State University, he received
his teaching degree and has been teaching ever since. He
says, "My favorite part of my job is teaching
enjoyable lessons to the students and the hardest part is
the paperwork." Mr. Standlee's first job was tying
boats at the Dow docks. Then during college he worked a
paper route, and during the summer he made landing mats
for the Vietnam War. He worked these jobs in order to get
enough money to complete his education and become a
teacher.

Gail Kellum |
Gail Kellum
Gail Kellum teaches 5th
grade Social Studies at CIS. She graduated from the University of
Houston and is married with one daughter. She has taught for a number of
years and enjoys having past students recognize her. Gail loves to swim,
read, and be with her family. She enjoys teaching History to her
students and tries to "bring it alive", which seems to be the hardest
part of American History since it happened so long ago. She says the
best thing about being at CIS is that it's like coming back home since
it's where she went to Junior High School. |

Greg
Roberson is a history teacher at CIS He has taught
sixth grade world history, seventh grade Texas history,
and eighth grade American history. He was inspired by a
wonderful tenth grade American history teacher. He went
to Lamar University in Beaumont. In college he majored in
social studies secondary education. What he likes most
about teaching is getting to help students succeed in
class. The most challenging thing is keeping up with the
endless paperwork that teachers have to do.

Linda Smith
is a history teacher at C.I.S. She graduated from Stephen
F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches. She is a
teacher who enjoys working with kids, and she loves
studying about history. Before she taught at C.I.S, she
taught at Angleton Middle School. She taught eighth grade
in Angleton, but now she teaches seventh grade Texas
history. Mrs. Smith has always been fascinated about the
people who came before us, how they lived, worked, and
played. She is married and has two children. Her advice
for those who want to become a history teacher is,
"Love the subject you are teaching and try to teach
your students how important it is to understand our
past."

Mike Tepera
Mike Tepera
teaches Texas History at C.I.S. He attended
Stephen F. Austin State University for his college
degree. He also taught history in Grapeland. What
inspired him to become a teacher is that he loves working
with students who want to learn. He really enjoys
teaching because it's a challenge with each student, so
they can be successful.

Jason Bohac |
Jason Bohac
Jason Bohac graduated from Sam
Houston State University in December of 2006. He now teaches 8th grade
American History at CIS. Before coming home to Clute, Mr. Bohac taught
6th grade World History at Rasco Middle School. Mr. Bohac believes that
every student can succeed and it is his mission to make History fun,
exciting, and meaningful to each and every student. He believes the
first step to getting students motivated to learn is establishing great
relationships with every student. "We have the best student sin the
world right here at Clute." Mr. Bohac plans to retire from Clute
Intermediate in the year 2051. When Mr. Bohac is not teaching he loves
spending his time by grading papers, making copies on the copier,
creating lesson plans, attending d-hall, averaging grades, making sure
student shave their shirts tucked in, and dreaming about a room with a
view. Most of all Mr. Bohac loves to spend time with his niece (Emma)
and nephew (Eli) as well as watching reality television. |

Eric Popplewell
Eric Popplewell grew up in
Katy, TX and graduated from Texas A&M in May 2007. He majored in
history and really enjoyed studying about how people and events changed
and shaped the world we live in now. He hopes to help students
enjoy school and history as much as possible. Mr. Popplewell has played
basketball his entire life and really loves coaching basketball.
