Mary Kay Hoffman

Mary Kay Hoffman is a language teacher at Clute Intermediate School. She has previously taught for 9 years at other schools. She graduated from Southwest Texas State University. She taught English and reading at Victoria, Ganado, and Waelder High Schools. To people who want to be a teacher she said that it is a great job. Her father suggested that she should be a teacher and inspired her to do so. She said, "I really enjoy teaching because hopefully, I'll inspire someone to be a teacher. I also love the interaction with students."

Neeta Allen

Neeta Allen is a language arts teacher at Clute Intermediate School. She teaches 7th grade language and 8th grade SEARCH language. She is the drama club sponsor and a UIL coach. Mrs. Allen has previously taught at Elgin and Beeville, Texas in the 70's. She was inspired by her 11th grade English teacher. She enjoys reading, writing, and acting. Mrs. Allen also enjoys plants, church work, as well as sewing creatively. The thing she likes most about working at CIS is the teachers, staff, and the students that she works with. She attended college at Northwest Missouri State University.

Pamela Potts

Pamela Potts

Pamela Potts is a language arts teacher at Clute Intermediate School. She has previously taught at Freeport Intermediate School. Mrs. Potts attended Sam Houston State University while majoring in English Literature. She loves to read and write stories. In her ninth grade year, her English teacher bragged on her writing. By then, she was convinced that she would be a great teacher. The most exciting part of her job is seeing a student's face light up when the student learns something. Mrs. Potts would advise anyone wanting to be a teacher to spend time in a classroom before choosing teaching as a career. She says, "Be prepared for the amount of time teaching takes outside of school day hours, and understand that dealing with so many different personalities each day requires an enormous amount of patience."

June Hembling

June Hembling teaches 6th grade language arts. Mrs. Hembling went to Bucknell University and received her finance degree, and has 24 or more credits of graduate accounting work from New York University. She is a  Reg 4 ACP candidate. For fun, Mrs. Hembling says, "I try to keep up withy my kids activities, teach Sunday school, and read."  Mrs. Hembling enjoys the staff at C.I.S. because they are very helpful.

Wendi Stewart

Ms. Stewart is a sixth grade language arts teacher at CIS. She attended UT Arlington and earned her MLS from the University of North Texas. She previously taught at Northwood Elementary in Burleson ISD. "When I owned a business, I came across a lot of people that couldn't read and many couldn't write well. I went into teaching to help children not only learn to read, but to love literature. I love teaching Language Arts, because it covers history as well. The history of mankind is reflected in its literature.  She enjoys swimming, reading, and spending time with her daughter.         

Paula McDonald

Known by her students as MS-MC, Paul McDonald teachers 8th grade Language Arts and coaches volleyball and basketball. MS-MC's background includes teaching in both public and private schools. She graduated a year early from high school and went on to college and received her BA in Physical Education with an English minor. She taught 3 years in Arkansas, Louisiana, and Illinois; and then pursued a music career for 17 years, traveling to 44 states and 27 foreign countries, working with our military troops in Europe 6 months of every year for 12 years. MS-MC enjoys sports, especially racquet ball, reading, singing, and time with her family and Youth Group. She says, "Singing has always been my passion." What she like best about Clute Intermediate is the people.

Charlene Cady

Mrs. Carlene Cady is thrilled and delighted to be teaching fifth grade Reading, Language Arts, and Spelling at CIS. Fifth graders are funny, interesting, and make the day go by quickly. Mrs. Cady was a professional college student at UMKC, and realized if she wanted to be in school all the time, then teaching would be a great profession!

Mrs. Cady has a passion for traveling! Mrs. Cady has visited all 50 states of our wonderful nation. She grew up in Kansas, and has worked as a nanny in New York, South Carolina, Kansas, and Missouri. Mrs. Cady took a one year sabbatical and backpacked for a year through the South Pacific. A month in Tahiti, three months in New Zealand, six months in Australia, six week in Fiji, and two weeks in Hawaii provided many wonderful memories. Mrs. Cay worked as a caregiver in New Zealand and Australia. Mrs. Cady kept a daily journal that was ready by over 100 people.

Mrs. Cady, her husband, and daughter moved to Texas 10 years ago to enjoy the salt water fishing and mild winters. A perfect day would be described as a day at the beach with my family, a book, and a fishing pole with a black tip shark on the hook!

Andrew Meraz

Andrew Meraz is an eighth grade Language Arts teacher at Clute Intermediate School. Mr. Meraz likes the family atmosphere the best at C.I.S. He graduated from Texas A&M University Corpus Christi and did graduate work at the University of Houston, Clear Lake. The one thing Mr. Meraz would like students and parents to know about him is that he is an extremely patient teacher. Besides teaching, Mr. Meraz likes to spend time with his wife and three children as well as surf, fish, do yard work, and produce digital videos.

Dahl Edwards is a Language Arts teacher at CIS. She teaches 6th and is the UIL coach for Ready Writing. Mrs. Edward has only taught at CIS. She is a graduate of Prairie View A&M University with a B.S. Interdisciplinary Studies. He her free time she enjoys reading and spending time with her family.

Sheryl Partain

Sheryl Partain

Sheryl Partain teaches 5th grade Language Arts/Reading at CIS. She says, "I love the people and administration. Believe it or not, I look forward to coming to work everyday, because of them" She previously taught 5th grade at Polk Elementary for 5 years. Ms. Partain is a native Texan. She and her family lived in Colorado for 11 years. She states that when asked where I was from, I'd always answer, "I'm from Texas, but I live in Colorado." She taught kindergarten in a private Christian school for two years, before starting her family. She was a stay at home mom for 13 years, and in 2001 returned to the classroom. "I so enjoy teaching 5th grade," she says. She loves to read, shop, and watch movies. She is a graduate of Howard Payne University and an avid Aggie.
