Patty
Edgington is a math teacher at Clute Intermediate School.
She attended the University of Kansas, and has always
loved math and teaching intermediate age students. She
previously taught in Kansas for five years. Mrs.
Edgington's favorite thing about teaching is seeing the
potential in every student, but her least favorite thing
is grading papers with illegible handwriting.

Shelly Donehue
Shelly Donehue teaches math at
Clute Intermediate. Mrs. Donehue attended the University of Houston,
Brazosport College, and received her BS in Multidisciplinary Studies. In
her spare time, Mrs. Donehue enjoys watching her daughter play sports
and visiting her family. Mrs. Donehue has only taught at Clute
Intermediate. What she likes best about C.I.S. is the friendly
atmosphere.

Jo Ann Hall
teaches mathematics at Clute Intermediate School. At Sam
Houston State University, she majored in physical
education and mathematics. Previously, she taught at
Freeport Intermediate for ten years and one year at
DeWitt Perry Junior High in Carrollton, Texas. Clute
Intermediate School is her favorite school of all. Her
main reason for wanting to become a teacher is that she
enjoys working with kids. The hardest part of her job is
paperwork and getting up early. The best part of her job
is helping students become successful. She thinks the
kids, the faculty and staff at C.I.S. are the best. Go
Cougars!!

Crystal Sierra
Crystal Sierra teaches math at
Clute Intermediate. Mrs. Sierra attended and played volleyball at Alvin
Community College, and received a two year degree in General Studies.
She also attended the University of Houston and received a bachelors in
science of education. Mrs. Sierra enjoys playing volleyball, going
camping, and site seeing. What she likes best about C.I.S., is how the school
is so family oriented and small.

Jacque Tobin was born in Lake
Jackson, Texas and graduated from Southwest Texas State University. Her
first job was at Bastrop High School. She has taught all kinds of math.
She enjoys teaching intermediate school math the best. She is now
teaching 8th grade math and 7th SEARCH Pre-Algebra. She is married to
her husband, Tim, and they have two daughters Bailey and Delaney. Mrs.
Tobin says she enjoys teaching at Clute because they have the best
staff, the best kids, and the best parents. She would also
like to add CIS ROCKS!!

Meredith
Martin is a 6th grade mathematics teacher at
C.I.S. Her love for children inspired her to
become a teacher . Mrs. Martin attended
Daytona Beach Community for 2 years and Sam Houston State
University for 3 years. At college, she majored in
Elementary Education, a course that allows her to teach
in any grade 1st-8th. She taught 5th grade math at Rasco
Middle School before moving to Clute. Mrs. Martin enjoys
not only teaching children, but also getting to know them
and being there for them when they need her. She wishes all students
loved math like she does!

Michael Valdez
Michael Valdez works in the Plato
lab with students and teachers. In the mornings, he helps out in the
library, and during the day, he works in the Plato lab. Mr. Valdez
enjoys spending time with his friends and family, going to the gym,
watching movies, biking, camping, and playing video games. Mr. Valdez
previously worked for a distributing company out of Houston while
attending UHCL full time. Mr. Valdez best likes the staff here at C.I.S.
He says it is like a second family. Mr. Valdez told us, "I have never
seen a more caring group of workers at any other establishment in my
work history." |

Mrs. Nancy Broadway
enjoyed working with her three children so much that she wanted to
continue working with young people after her children were grown. So,
she attended the University of Houston at Clear Lake to get her teaching
certificate. She is certified to teach 4th through 8th grade students in
the areas of language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies.
Mrs. Broadway says she enjoys working with young people and with the
great staff at C.I.S. When she is not teaching,
Mrs. Broadway, spends her spare time learning about subjects that
interest her. She reads a lot of nonfiction books about politics,
education, and religion. She loves working in her yard. Her very
favorite thing is to spend time with her husband and their children. |

Mrs. Goode teaches 7th grade
math at CIS. She graduated from the University of North Texas in 199
with a Bachelor's of Science degree in education and specialization in
math. Mrs. Goode moved to the area in 2005 from Denton, Texas very
shortly after getting married. She taught at a Christian school for 5
years before coming to public schools. After moving to the Brazosport
area, she taught 5th grade at Polk Elementary for two years before
moving over to Clute. Mrs. Goode has enjoyed teaching very much and had
had the privilege to teach at several different grade levels. The
intermediate grades are by far her favorite to work with. In her "spare" time, Mrs. Goode
loves spending time with her wonderful husband, hanging out with
friends, and playing with her dog. She also like to play volleyball,
watch baseball or basketball, and play the piano. |

Marian
Bonser Marian Bonser
is a 5th grade math teacher. She taught 4th grade math and science in
West Columbia before coming to work for BISD to teach 5th grade math at
Madge Griffith Elementary. She graduated from the University of Houston
at Clear Lake with a degree in Elementary Education. Moving to CIS has
been wonderful. "I love teaching and working with the students. I enjoy
seeing my former students as well." For fun Mrs. Bonser enjoys visiting
family who have moved out of this area, and taking trips on her
motorcycle. She says, "My love of animals has always kept my house full.
Currently, I have a ferret who found me four years ago. Life has been
good! GO COUGARS!" |

Misty Welch
Misty Welch graduated from Brazosport College
with a 2 year degree in general studies. In December of 2007 she
graduated from Sam Houston State University with a BS in Academic
Studies and a minor in mathematics. Ms. Welch says that her favorite
thing about teaching at CIS is the staff and kids. They are GREAT! In
her spare time, she enjoys playing volleyball, basketball, and coaching.
She also coaches tumbling for Cheer Extreme. She says, "Hanging out with
friends and family and working out are other things I enjoy." |

Jason Kalle
Jason Kaale is a 5th grade math teacher at CIS.
He graduated from the University of Houston with a degree in HRM. His
love has always been helping others learn and try new things. He
returned to school to receive his teaching certification in all
subjects. He has taught at Velasco Elementary and Griffith Elementary as
well as CIS. Mr. Kaale has taught math, science, and social studies. He
enjoys spending time with his wife and daughters as well as playing
music. He also loves to travel and has been to 48 different states and
he hopes to get to the last two states soon. What Mr. Kaale loves most
about math is when a student gets the "I GOT IT" look when they
understand a new concept for the first time. Mr. Kaale loves the energy
and spirt of his fellow teachers here at CIS. |

Mrs. Henderson teaches math at CIS. She is also
certified to teach language arts, science, and social studies. She has
lived in this area all her life. When she was young she wanted to be an
artist and after two years of college she got a job working as a graphic
artist. After eight years and the birth of her first son, Mrs. Henderson
left her job so she could be home with her children. Later when the two
boys started school she started volunteering in the schools. She found
that she really like working with children. She went back to school in
2003 and graduated from the University of Houston at Clear Lake in
December 2006. Mrs. Henderson says she really likes working with
the staff and children at CIS. They are the best! Outside of school,
Mrs. Henderson likes to read lots of different types of books,
especially historical fiction. She also loves to travel, play with her
pets (two cats and one dog), and spend time with her family. |
