Geoff
Atkinson
Geoff Atkinson is band director
at CIS. He has had numerous award-winning programs in Houston, Tyler,
and Madisonville both at the junior high and high school levels. A 1991
graduate of Brazoswood High School, Mrs. Atkinson hold music degrees
from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, TX and the University of
North Texas in Denton, TX. He enjoys spending time with his family in
the Houston area. Mr. Atkinson is also an active Christian jazz musician
who has worked with such leaders as Camp Kirkland, Frank Mantooth, Neil
Slater, Tony Baker, and Dennis Dotson. Geoff has combined his two
passions--music and missions--together to travel and serve others around
the world. Mr. Atkinson has performed and served in such places as
Texas, Louisiana, Georgia, California, Oregon, Washington, Hawaii,
Guatemala, Russia, Belize, Mexico, and Canada. From June 19-28, 2008,
Mr. Atkinson will travel to Volgograd, Russia for a mission and tour
with a jazz band from Global Missions Project. To find out how you can

BrittonStephanie Britton
is the 5th grade General Music teacher at CIS. She received her
Bachelor's of Music in Vocal Performance from the University of South
Dakota in 1000 and her education degree from Augustana College in Sioux
Falls, South Dakota in 2007. Ms. Britton is currently working on her
Master of Arts in Teaching degree through Augustana College. She is
originally from South Dakota (cold!!!) and enjoys the warmer Texas
weather (most days). In addition to teaching, Ms. Britton enjoys reading
to and playing with her daughter, working on a cross stitch, playing
games online, listening to all kinds of music and hanging out with
friends. |
