Donna Betts
Donna
Betts, a very special person in the CIS Library, helps
students bring out the best in their reading skills. Mrs.
Betts worked in other libraries for thirteen years before
coming to CIS. One of the schools she worked at was
Angleton Middle School West. Mrs. Betts attended
Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge for two years.
After realizing that Northwest Louisiana University
offered a library, she transferred and graduated with a
degree to teach kindergarten through eighth grade with a
minor in library science. Mrs. Betts has taught third and
fourth grade in all subjects and language arts for sixth
grade. "Yes , I love to read and I enjoy teaching.
Library work is always fun," said Mrs. Betts. She
also said, "My mother encouraged me to get the
additional certification because it would qualify me for
a wider range of job opportunities." Mrs. Betts gave
the CIS students some advice that should be learned by
all, "Learn as much as you can about technology and
read as much as you can. Knowledge really is power!"
