Clute Intermediate School proudly sponsors an NJHS chapter. The NJHS
is a branch of the National Junior Honor Society. The selections of
members is by faculty council recommendation, and is based upon
scholarship, character, leadership, and service and citizenship.
Students selected for membership in NJHS must consistently maintain a
92% average the entire year, and have no lower than an "S" in conduct.
Students are inducted in the Spring, and are active in their 8th grade
year. Students who are in the 8th grade upon induction, are eligible to
participate in meetings and for any products for the rest of the year.
NJHS members are involved in service projects for school,
community, and sometimes even county and state. , NJHS
will sponsor the "If You Care, Bring a Bear" drive to new
teddy bears for the Texas Children's Hospital. To fund the induction
ceremony, members may have a variety of fund-raisers. Whenever NJHS
raises additional funds, the members elect where the money should be
donated. In the past, members have donated to the Wildlife Refuge.
