Every year thousands of men, women and children fall into the hands of traffickers in their own countries and abroad. Almost every country in the world is affected by trafficking, whether as a country of origin, transit, or destination for victims. Houston, the fourth largest city in the nation, is considered the number one hub of human and sex trafficking in the United States. With the Brazosport area’s close proximity to Houston and with recent news stories regarding issues with trafficking in our area, Brazosport ISD has partnered with Mrs. Kerri Taylor and the organization “Unbound Houston” to offer an awareness program on this topic to our 7th, 8th and 9th graders.
