Both community colleges and high school seniors attended this program at San Jacinto College North Campus on October 26th. BISD Career and Technical Education (CTE) female seniors either in the Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) track or the manufacturing track were invited to participate. Three students from Mr. Crainer’s welding class, along with CTE Specialist Lowell Good and CTE Director Jessie Jennings, made the trip to San Jacinto for this special opportunity.

Lowell Good expressed the value of this event when he stated, “The petrochemical industry is working very hard to change the image of the field as being something for men only. There are many great opportunities for females in our local industry as well as worldwide.”

Jessie Jennings added “At BISD, we are committed to ensuring that our students realize their value and importance, while striving to reach their fullest potential. The possibilities for these young ladies within business and industry corporations such as Shell is limitless.”

BISD is proud to continue its efforts to support our students to be career and future ready!
