Brazosport Business Professionals of America Students Qualify for Nationals in Florida
Brazosport High School had four students travel to Dallas, Texas March 1-5, 2017 to compete at the Business Professionals of America Texas State Leadership Conference. For a second year in a row, Brazosport had students qualify for the National Leadership Conference slated for Orlando, Florida in May 2017.
This year LeShe’ Neal took 3rd place in Graphic Design Promotion and Rosa Meza placed 4th in Intermediate Word Processing, qualifying both girls for a trip to Orlando. Antonio Williams place 7th in Extemporaneous Speech and RJ Perez presented in Computer Modeling.
Over 2,000 regional participants from across Texas participated in state level business skill competitions, general sessions, and the state officer candidate elections. This experience is a great opportunity to excel in business leadership.
Business Professionals of America is a national organization for middle school, high school and college students preparing for careers in business and office occupations. The organization’s activities and programs complement classroom instruction by giving students practical experience through application of the skills learned at school. Business Professionals of America acts as a cohesive agent in the nationwide networking of education, business and industry and is contributing to the preparation of a world-class workforce through the advancement of leadership, citizenship, academic and technological skills.
Many thanks go to Amanda Thiede, business teacher and sponsor for this CTE organization for her hard work of preparation, to Josh Pinson who helped prepare the students the last several weeks in Amanda’s absence and to Sherita Neal who took the students to Dallas this year.
