This is the image for the news article titled Over 480 Trees Saved Since Implementing Online Flyer DistributionIn an effort to reduce waste, promote sustainability and save valuable time and money, two years ago Brazosport ISD replaced the majority of paper flyers previously sent home with students with the implementation of an electronic delivery of flyers called Peachjar. Since that time, flyers have been sent electronically through Peachjar to families who receive them as images right on their smartphone or computer screen. With one click, families can register children for school events and enrichment programs.

With BISD eliminating the printing cost and staff time associated with paper flyers, the move to Peachjar represents a savings of more than $1.5 million in paper costs and staff time for our stakeholders. Additionally, by reducing paper waste, the district has saved the equivalent of 484 trees, or nearly 4 million sheets of paper. We are proud of efforts like this that are helping to support sustainable practices.

Anyone can view informational flyers approved by the district at the Peachjar webpage, which can be found in Quick Links at any of the district’s campus websites.
