How might I contact my child's school counselor?

If you are unsure about how to contact your child's counselor, call your school's main office and ask to be connected to the counseling office.

What are the topics that are commonly addressed in small group counseling sessions?

Topics often addressed by school counselors in small groups include: social skills/friendship, organization and study skills, changing families, anger management, self-concept, and school success. Other topics are addressed as deemed appropriate.

I feel as though my child needs to receive individual counseling for an issue occurring in our lives at this time. Can our school counselor provide individual counseling?

School counselors do see students on an individual basis from time to time. Due to time constraints, they are not able to see students individually for an extended time. If your school counselor thinks, after meeting with your child for two or three sessions, that your child needs further assistance he/she will inform you of further options.School counselors do see students on an individual basis from time to time. How do I find out how many credits my student needs to graduate from High School?

The High School graduation options are listed in the High School Course Selection Guide.  A copy is available at the High School Parent Information night.  Every 8th grade student is also given one in the Spring.  It may be viewed online at the following link: High School Course Selection Guide

My child needs a schedule change. Who do I contact?

You will need to contact your son/daughter's school counselor. You can locate that information on this website or the campus website.
