Dual Credit

Dual Credit is an opportunity to earn college and high school credit while in high school.  Through a combination of resources and partnerships, a college scholarship program is available to offset tuition costs for BISD students attending Brazosport College during the academic year. To apply, contact the Brazosport College Financial Aid Office at 230-3377 or 230-3294. You can also come by Monday-Thursday (7:30 a.m.-6:00 p.m.) or Fridays (8:00 a.m.-12 noon). Awards will be made to eligible students on a first come, first served basis.

BISD is pleased to continue its community partnership with Brazosport College and strongly encourages interested students to participate in the dual credit program. Students who are juniors and who meet entrance requirements may choose to enroll in dual credit courses at Brazosport College. Students reap many benefits by taking dual credit courses:

A list of courses approved for dual credit may be found in the BISD Course Selection Guide available in the Guidance Office at each high school campus.  Interested students should consult with a guidance counselor at the high school.  Students enrolled in the dual credit program are responsible for the total cost of tuition, fees, and books. This year, new monies are available through the State of Texas for students who are enrolled in a minimum of 6 hours of dual credit each semester (some restrictions apply).  For information, contact the Brazosport College Financial Aid Department, 979.230.3377 or 230-3294.
