Requirements for Selection into the NJHS

To be eligible for membership in NJHS, the student must have attended at least one semester at Freeport Intermediate. Election of members will take place during the second semester of attendance.

Eligibility for students at the end of grade seven and grade eight shall be considered on school scholarship, citizenship, service, leadership, and character. The scholarship requirement is a scholastic average of 92 with no grade below 82 in all classes.
Dismissal
- Members who fall below the standards which were the basis for their selection shall be promptly warned in writing and given a six weeks period to correct the deficiency, except in the case of violation of school rules or civil laws, a member does not necessarily have to be warned. Any member who earns a “U” in conduct in a six weeks period shall be suspended. Any assignment to Central and/or Alternative School will result in immediate removal from the NJHS.
