The Child Nutrition Program in the Brazosport Independent School District offers all students and staff a nutritious, well-balanced breakfast and lunch on a daily basis. Guidelines set by the National School Lunch Program are followed to maintain the nutritional integrity of all student meals."
  

The Child Nutrition department operates from a central office and warehouse. Food and supplies are distributed to fourteen cooking kitchens and six satellite kitchens with 150 employees.
  

A total of nearly 13,000 lunches and meal equivalents are served daily. Breakfast is served to nearly 4,000 students and adults every day.
  

Free or reduced price meals are served to 52% of students in the school district. Over 4,600 applications for free and reduced price meals are processed each year.
  

All of the food service managers as well as many of the employees are certified by Texas Association for School Nutrition. In addition, most permanent employees have completed a sixteen hour course in safety and sanitation. This professional enrichment ultimately benefits the students in this district.
