Program Description

The main goal of the Brazosport Independent School District Teacher Induction Program is to help teachers adopt basic classroom techniques to ensure high-level success for all BISD students.

All new teachers to BISD, beginning or experienced, attend the 3 day Teacher Induction Program in August prior to the opening of school.  A fourth day follow up in the fall provides additional training.

The Teacher Induction Program is based on world renowned educator, Dr. Harry Wong’s principles and practices as outlined in his book, The First Days of School. The focus is on classroom management, procedures and routines, and lesson design.  The program also introduces the new teachers to the district and community and sets the stage for success in BISD in a fun learning environment.
