Mission Statement: Good Nutrition
The mission of Brazosport ISD Child Nutrition Services is to provide quality nutritional meals and excellent service to "Our Students - Our Customers".

General Information
Brazosport ISD Child Nutrition Services offers students and staff an appealing, nutritious breakfast and lunch each day.  We are proud to exceed the nutrition requirements of USDA by providing meals that meet at least 1/3 of the recommended daily allowance for nutrients.
 
Approximately 12,500 reimbursable lunches and meal equivalents are served each day. Breakfast is served to nearly 4,000 students and adults every day.
  
Free or reduced price meals are available for students of families who meet the federal income requirements.  Approximately 56% of BISD students qualify for free and reduced meals. Over 3,500 applications for free and reduced price meals are processed each year.
  
All Child Nutrition Managers are Serv-safe certified.  Most Child Nutrition employees are certified by Texas Association for School Nutrition. In addition, most permanent employees have completed a sixteen hour course in safety and sanitation. This professional enrichment ultimately benefits the students in this district.
  
The Child Nutrition program is a vital part of the total education program:

•  Provides good nutrition to the growing student.
•  Teaches the importance good eating habits.
•  Ensures that each student is offered two well-balanced meals a day.
•  Keeps students well nourished and equipped to learn

The Child Nutrition department is self-funded.  All Child Nutrition revenues are raised from the sale of meals and federal reimbursement.
