April Urbanek - Title 1 Computer Teacher
Hello. This is my second year to teach at Jane Long and I am so happy to be here! I love my students and I love my job! I am blessed to work in the computer lab because I get to see every student in our school at least once a week. My goal is to use technology to teach reading, math and science in the lab. It is amazing to me how quickly our little Marlins pick up technology skills. They enjoy being on the computers so much that at times I think they forget they are working.
On a personal note, I graduated from Brazoswood High School and then earned my Bachelor's Degree at Abilene Christian University. I have been married to my husband, Joel, for 3 years. My eleven year old step-son, Cody lives with us and attends 6th grade at Rasco. We are expecting our first little girl, Jenna, in November. I would have to say my favorite hobby is traveling. I also enjoy reading, shopping and cooking.
