Marianne Ricotta - Second Grade Teacher

New York State was my home for the first part of my life. I'm not sure if I'd be considered a "Texan" yet!

Jane Long was my first and possible only public school I'll teach in. I've been here 22 incredibly short, sometimes challenging, but always inspiring years.

Reading is one of my passions. King, Koontz, Kellerman, Patterson, Grafton, and Cornwell are some of my favorite authors.

Everything is more enjoyable with music. I love to sing along to favorites such as Dan Fogelberg, the Beatles, Seals & Crofts, Dan Hill, and Dido.

Some of my favorite movies are musicals as well-Hair, West Side Story, and Jesus Christ Superstar.

Some of my favorite school memories are from the 8th grade. I attended class in Reseda, California. That year we applied our math knowledge by piloting an actual small piper cub as a final exam. I also was in a horticulture class and I remember chasing our pigs throughout the school campus when they escaped their pens!
