Welcome to Mrs. Mendez-Garza Third Grade Class. Mrs. Garza 's class is a Bilingual Class. The students are working very hard in Reading, Math strategies, TAAS strategies, and follow directions.
In Writing the students are:
* Learning how to write letters
* How to Papers
* Capitalization
* Punctuation
In Language Arts the Students are studying:
* Proper and Common Nouns,
* Adjectives,
* Complete Sentences,
* Prefixes, Suffixes,
* Synonyms and Antonyms.
In Math the students are working on:
* Money addition & subtraction problems
* Counting money, counting change
* Determining the value of a collection of coins and bills
In Reading: They are working very hard:
* Taking AR tests
* The Main idea
* Summary
* Context clues.
In Art the students will paint The American Winslow Homer.
In Science they will have a Field Trip to Moody Gardens in November. They will be studying the Ocean Life, penguins, sharks, whales, some vocabulary words such as: coral reef, whales, kelp, under the sea, etc.
In Social Studies the students are studying:
* Different Classes of communities
*Community and Geography
*recognizing land forms
*Plains, mountains, hills
*climate and geography
In Health they are learning about hygiene.
