This is the image for the news article titled BISD Campuses Prepare for Brazoria County Spelling Bee 2018Students from Brazosport ISD have been working diligently in preparation for the 2018 Zone 1, Brazoria County Regional Spelling Bee. Brazosport ISD has hosted the Regional Bee for the past nine years under the direction of Cheryl Wood, LJI Librarian and will again on Friday, February 9th of this year. The Center for the Arts and Sciences has graciously agreed to host the competition with a complimentary reception to follow.  

The top 2 spellers from participating campuses will face off for the opportunity to advance to the Scripps Houston Channel 8 Bee on April 7, 2018. The winner of that bee will then go to Washington DC in June to contend for the national championship.

BISD will be represented by eight campuses including Bess Brannen, Madge Griffith, Elisabet Ney, Velasco, Lanier Middle, Clute Intermediate, Freeport Intermediate and  Lake Jackson Intermediate. Below is a list of campus winners:
