| The goals of
the counseling department at T. W. Ogg deal with
prevention and development. Students are taught how to
build a healthy self-concept, maintain good peer
relationships, and improve their relationships with
adults. They also learn skills that help them achieve
academically, choose careers, and behave appropriately in
the classroom. We believe in equipping our students for
personal growth and positive outcomes. Here at T. W. Ogg, we strive to develop meaningful programs and events to benefit our children and their families. We train volunteers, coordinate parent and student educational fairs, lead support groups, coordinate at-risk programs, and work with outside agencies on a referral basis. This kind of community involvement is vital to the success of our students and to the school-home relationship we work to maintain -- our students and their parents know that we are here for them to come to with problems and concerns.
