There have been many changes and additions made to T. W. Ogg this school year. One big addition to our campus is our new Principal Mr. Eddie Damian. Mr. Damian loves working with kids and education. He began his education in Angleton, where he grew up. He continued his education at Sam Houston State University and the University of Houston.

Although Mr. Damian is new to this campus, he is no stranger to being a principal. He has been a principal for four years. He started his route to becoming a principal by first coaching basketball. He then became an assistant principal in Pasadena. He was principal at Madge Griffith before coming to Ogg.

The decision to be a principal was not hard for him. He says he became a principal to help kids become successful and also become better leaders. He also says being a principal has many good points but can be hard at times. “The best part about being principal is having contact with and working with parents, students, and staff,” he said. “The hardest part is trying to balance work with my family, wife, and kids. Because he is used to having to find balance, he is able to give good advice to his teachers and staff to keep them motivated. “No matter what the statistics say, there is always a way,” he said. “You’re not in competition with anyone but yourself.”

All of us at T. W. Ogg know Mr. Damian works very hard, but he does find time for the other things he really enjoys. “I like to spend time with my family and work in my garden,” he said. “I also like to think of ways to make T. W. Ogg better.” Mr. Damian always treats T. W. Ogg like family, but he has two children of his own that he tries to give the same qualities as he gives to us. “As my kids grow up, I look forward to helping them grow into good citizens and positive adults.”

So what advice would Mr. Damian give all his students at T. W. Ogg to help them become successful?
