Mrs. Barnes has been at Polk Elementary since 1992.  She truly enjoys teaching her Fourth Grade students!  In 2005, she received Polk’s first Teacher of the Year Award.  She received her Bachelor’s Degree and her Master’s Degree from The University of Texas in Austin, and she also has a Montessori Diploma.  For many years, she taught at Brazosport College.  She is married and has two daughters.   Her husband also teaches in BISD at Lanier Middle School.
