I grew up in the small West Texas town of Kermit and  atttended Texas Tech. My education degree is from Howard Payne University.  After graduation I taught in my hometown and in Brownwood, Texas, teaching third grade, Head Start, and first grade.  My husband Royce and I moved to the Brazosport area as soon as he completed his degree, and we have both been teaching in BISD since that time, except for the two years I stayed home with our young sons. My husband was in the first group of teachers at Brazoswood, and I was fortunate to be in the first group of teachers here at Polk. We have three grown children, Scott, Chris, and Bethany.  We are presently the proud grandparents of nine wonderful grandchildren.
