What are the
goals of the CTE program in BISD?
 |
BISD's program supports the goals set forth in the
required State Plan for Career and Technology Education.
|
 |
The plan is based on the two goals for Texas Career and
Technology Education established by the 74th Texas Legislature
in the Texas Education Code (TEC §29.182). |
 |
These goals state that each public school student shall
master the basic skills and knowledge necessary for: (1)
managing the dual roles of family member and wage earner; and
(2) gaining entry-level employment in a high-skill, high-wage
job or continuing the student's education at the postsecondary
level |
 |
The objectives for these goals
are focused on academic excellence, guidance and counseling,
partnerships, curriculum, professional development, and
evaluation. |
