What are the goals of the CTE program in BISD?

	BISD's program supports the goals set forth in the required State Plan for Career and Technology Education.
	The plan is based on the two goals for Texas Career and Technology Education established by the 74th Texas Legislature in the Texas Education Code (TEC §29.182).
	These goals state that each public school student shall master the basic skills and knowledge necessary for: (1) managing the dual roles of family member and wage earner; and (2) gaining entry-level employment in a high-skill, high-wage job or continuing the student's education at the postsecondary level
	The objectives for these goals are focused on academic excellence, guidance and counseling, partnerships, curriculum, professional development, and evaluation.
