Health & Wellness: Body, Mind & Community
In June 2005, the 78th Texas Legislature passed into law Senate Bill 42 (SB42). Senate Bill 42 addresses children’s health through a coordinated school health approach to preventing obesity, cardiovascular disease, and Type II diabetes in elementary, middle and junior high school students. The legislation was in response to the escalating health disparities in Texas youth and built upon the requirement for elementary schools to implement a Coordinated School Health Program established by Senate Bill 19. Brazosport Independent School District developed and named its coordinated school health program the Health & Wellness: Body, Mind & Community Please click on the link above to view
