| Information we have to offer:
Publications at BISD

There are a total of 31 counselors in the district. Services offered include
developmental, career, academic, and personal guidance. All counselors are TEA certified.
In addition, several are "licensed professional counselors" and hold Special
Education Counseling certification. A counselor also services the BISD night school.
Brazosport College and Brazosport ISD employ a "shared" counselor to serve the
needs of those enrolled in the dual/concurrent program with the local community college.
The counseling staff works with teachers and parents to meet the personal and academic
needs of all BISD students.
Region IV
ESC and Thompson/Peterson's partnership is providing all Texas
students' who are interested in preparing for this years SAT a
FREE online review/preparation course. Information and student
registration can be found at the Texas Virtual School web site (http://www.texasvirtualschool.org).
This program is administered through the Texas Virtual School and
is a pilot from March-May when the SAT is administered. The
opportunity to take the SAT Review Course free is limited to this
pilot only. Once the pilot project is completed future courses
will be on a fee basis. This is a great opportunity for our
students to use an online SAT prep program for free!! Normally
these programs cost $200-400 per person for a 4 week usage period. |
