Medication at School
Administering of prescription or non-prescription medication must be
requested in writing by a parent, legal guardian, or person in legal
control. Medications must be FDA approved and physicians must be
licensed to practice medicine in the United States.
Prescription medication must be sent to school in the prescription
bottle with the prescription label on the bottle. This would include
the student's name, doctor's name, dosage, and frequency of
administration. Parents are urged to administer medication at home
when possible. The student is responsible for the timing of his/her
medication (except pre-kindergarten, kindergarten, and grade one).
Medications are not to be carried or possessed on campus by any
student. All medication must be kept in the nurse’s office.
