Insight into BISD (May 2006)
The $128 million bond construction projects are progressing as scheduled
with completion targeted at the end of this calendar year. The three current
projects are Brazosport High School (Phase II), Clute Intermediate School (Phase
II) and Lanier Middle School.
Brazosport Independent School District is proud of their new
facilities as a result of the bond and looks forward to their completion. We
invite the community to visit these facilities upon completion, in addition to
our other schools. The facility improvements made at all of our district
campuses and extra-curricular facilities are a result of the tax efforts of our
community.

Insight January 2005 Edition
Construction
throughout the school district has been progressing with the completion of many
renovations to existing buildings and athletic facilities. The new building
addition to Jane Long Elementary is complete (right), and students moved into
this facility on January 18. This new building houses 12 classrooms, an
instructional lab and a music room. In addition to the new building, other
renovations have occurred in existing structures throughout the campus.

Velasco
Elementary |
Dreams of allocating bond monies for new schools became a reality
with the completion of our first new school—Velasco Elementary in
Freeport. Students from Velasco started the 2005 year in their new school. The
entire Velasco family is excited and proud of their new educational home.

The new Lake Jackson Intermediate and new Clute Intermediate are progressing
according to the construction schedule. Lake Jackson Intermediate is scheduled
to open its doors to students at the beginning of the 2005-2006 school year.
Clute Intermediate's construction is a two-phase project with a projected
completion date of December 2005 for the first phase.
Our district high schools are also having major construction. Brazosport High
School's phase one project includes new classrooms, library, performance gym and
renovations to the existing vocational building. Brazoswood High School is
having new science classrooms added to their existing building. Interior
renovations are also occurring in classrooms throughout the school. Brazosport
Independent School District is proud of the new facilities and refurbishing
resulting from the $128 million bond recently passed. We invite the community to
visit these facilities and see the result of your tax money at work! |
