Multilevel Certification Plan
|

Professional development is an essential element to Brazosport ISD meeting its vision
of "Exemplary and Beyond
" The BISD Multilevel Certification Plan is a
recommended progression of technology skills and training which align with the BISD Technology Competencies.
The Multilevel Certification Plan (MLCP) addresses all BISD personnel but the focus
remains on instruction. Incentives for progression through the plan is being investigated
by the District Technology Committee. Future hardware and software allocations will be
based on MLCP participation.
The BISD Multilevel Certification Plan is divided into four levels of training:
Level I, Foundation: Proficiency in using the computer (24 hours)
Level II, Intermediate: Proficiency in using productivity tools (16 hours)
Level III, Advanced: Teaching and learning integration (40 hours)
Level IV, Yearly Maintenance: On-going training (8 hours yearly)
All technology professional development and training since 1996-97 can be applied
toward the MLCP. This includes out-of-district workshops, conferences, and college
courses. Hours for this plan may be earned during or outside of school time. It is the
employee's responsibility to keep track of training hours and levels. Documentation of all
training should be maintained by the employee in their personal professional development
file.
Application for Level Recognition is now available to all employees.
Submission of training documentation is required with each application.
