Website Policies

District and campus websites will help chart the course for information access, teaching, and learning in the 21st century. Informing the worldwide community about BISD, portraying the creative work of students and staff, and increasing student performance are the major District and campus website goals. To meet these goals and ensure safety and reliability of information, District/Campus/ Department website standards and procedures have been established. All students and staff are required to sign an Acceptable Use Agreement and abide by District copyright policy.

	A campus or department web page is created under the auspices of the campus principal or administrative department head. Most departmental sites are currently maintained by the District webmaster.
	Web pages are published on either the BISD Internet or Intranet servers. Site based computers or servers will not be allowed to publish web pages to the Internet.
	A trained campus webmaster maintains each campus site and checks for accuracy and appropriateness of information and adherence to Website Design Standards and Clip Art Standards.
	Procedures (Word & PDF) and guidelines (Word & PDF) have been established for teachers who wish to publish websites.
	The District webmaster ensures District practices in regards to spelling, grammar, content, links, and copyright are being adhered to before posting to the appropriate Internet locations.
	All student and staff photographs and work require signed permission slips before posting to the BISD Internet site.
	Email links must be made to a BISD account. Students are not provided email accounts.
	All outside and commercial links must be approved by the BISD webmaster.
	Outside sites affiliated with BISD campuses may seek permission to be linked. Please contact the appropriate campus webmaster. Download the permission form in PDF. Web site guidelines (PDF format) are also available.
