Brazosport Independent School District’s communications team received a total of 30 Star Awards from the Texas School Public Relations Association (TSPRA) during its annual conference held in February.

Every year, TSPRA honors school districts for their exceptional work in print, electronic and visual media. BISD was awarded eleven Gold Star Awards, fifteen Silver Star Awards, three Bronze Star and one Best of Category medal for the district’s website.

“Our staff takes pride in the work they do to keep parents, students, staff and our community informed through publications, videos, news releases, etc,” said BISD Superintendent Danny Massey. “I was incredibly proud to hear that so many of our communication publications were recognized and awarded by the state!”

Impartial, independent judges evaluated each submission and determined the award recipients based on criteria set by TSPRA. School districts from across the state are judged among three separate district categories: less than 10,000 students, 10,000 to 30,000 students and more than 30,000 students. Brazosport ISD has approximately 12,500 students and was judged among district with as many as 30,000 students.
