BISD Staff Recognized for Work with Drug & Alcohol Prevention

This is the image for the news article titled BISD Staff Recognized for Work with Drug & Alcohol PreventionDuring the meeting of the Brazoria County Community Coalition held on August 27th, the Bay Area Council on Drug & Alcohol (BACODA) surprised the staff of Brazosport ISD with award plaques. BACODA, a non-profit United Way agency, recognized BISD for their collaborative partnership and thanked them for their work on drug and alcohol prevention measures with students.

Receiving awards were Tonya Heard, past At-Risk Coordinator; Allison Jasso, Coordinator of Guidance and Counseling; Molly James, Coordinator of Health Services; Stephanie Jess, Brazoswood Student Council Sponsor; and Jayme Peterson, Brazosport PALS Sponsor.

BACODA was founded in 1974 by a group of concerned parents, business people, medical professionals and civic leaders in order to establish a centralized clearinghouse for information on drug and alcohol abuse and to reduce the prevalence of these diseases in the Texas Bay Area.

Congratulations to these deserving individuals and groups for your efforts to make a difference in so many lives.
