This is the image for the news article titled Senior Carson Barker Received National Science and Tech AwardBrazoswood Senior Carson Barker recently received the National Academy of Future Scientists and Technologists Award of Excellence for his outstanding performance, leadership potential and dedication to serving humanity through science, technology, engineering and math after attending the Congress of Future Science and Technology Leaders this summer. Carson is the son of Jason and Amber Barker. He is currently active in Computer Science and Golf at Brazoswood and plans to major in Computer Science Programming.

Carson represented BISD and the State of Texas at the Congress held in Boston, Massachusetts in the summer of 2017 and returned in June of 2018 as an Alumni participant. This honors-only program is dedicated to inspiring and motivating top high school students who aspire to careers in Science and Technology. The program continues to provide a path, plan and resources to help students in reaching their goal. Speakers for the event included Nobel Prize winners, Technology Innovators and Physics scholars as well as “young geniuses” who inspire through their inventions and innovations in Talent Search competitions.
