Brazoswood Jazz Students Earn Region Honors

This is the image for the news article titled Brazoswood Jazz Students Earn Region HonorsThe TMEA Region XVII All-Region Jazz Band tryouts were held on Saturday, September 15th, at Alvin Community College, with over 75 students from around the Region auditioning for one of 40 spots in the All-Region Jazz Bands. This year, students from Brazoswood High School received 15 of those 40 spots – the most of any school in
Region 17.

Those students earning a position in the All-Region Jazz Band II are: Wyatt Barrier, trombone; Janie Batts, trumpet; Connor Holt, alto sax; Daniel Loeza, bass trombone; and Alex Moore, bass trombone.

Ten students were named to the All-Region Jazz Band I, and qualify to compete for a spot in the Texas All-State Jazz Band. They are: Hunter Brooks, trombone; Keaton Dingee, bari sax; Thomas Gagnon, tenor sax; Braeden Luera, trombone; Isaiah Lusko, trombone; Garrett Nicholas, trumpet; James Parsons, bass trombone; Grace Sargent, trumpet; Bryce Sidney, bass; and Isaac Tepperman, piano.

These fifteen students, along with the other members of the All-Region Jazz Bands will attend a clinic with world class educators beginning November 30th, culminating with a concert at The Clarion at Brazosport College on Saturday, December 1st, at 5:00 pm. Admission is free.
