Brazosport Exporter Band Receives TMEA Honor Band Finalist Award

This is the image for the news article titled Brazosport Exporter Band Receives TMEA Honor Band Finalist AwardWe are excited to announce that the Brazosport High School Symphonic Band was named a 2018-2019 TMEA Honor Band Finalist, placing 12th in the state of Texas among division 4A bands.

Last spring the Brazosport High School Symphonic Band submitted their UIL Region 13-4A contest selections to the Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA) Honor Band contest for judging. The contest is designed to award distinctions to the most outstanding band programs in the state of Texas.

The state is divided into 8 Areas and two bands are selected from each Area. In June of this year, Brazosport High School was one of those two chosen to represent Area H and advanced to the state judging level.

Mr. John W. Carroll, TMEA Vice-President said in his letter of accommodation, “Finalists are evidence of the strength and high quality of music education,” and he commended the fine musicians and directors at Brazosport High School for their hard work. Congratulations to the Brazosport Symphonic Band and their director Dennis Boucher for this high honor.
