The Texas Army National Guard and the Texas High School Coaches Association released the 2019 All-State Academic teams for the Fall Sports. BISD had 12 student athletes named to an Academic All-State Team for the fall sports of Volleyball, Cross-Country and Football. The following were recognized as All-State recipients based on GPA, class rank and ACT/SAT score.
Football
Brazoswood Seniors Austin Trahan (Honorable Mention), Connor Funk (1st Team), Jestin Young (Honorable Mention), Juan Solis (2nd Team) and Nate Neely (2nd Team).
Brazosport had two athletes make the Academic All-State team. Alex Villarreal (Honorable Mention) and Eddie Flores (1st Team).

Brazosport ISD Athletic Director Alan Weddell commented that “at BISD athletics the total educational process is at the highest priority in our athletic programs. The total student athlete positive experience, both academically and athletically, is one that will last a lifetime and help the student athlete prepare for and succeed in the more important game of life”.
We would like to send a big congratulations to these students players who modelled hard work and success on the field and in the classroom. Way to go!
