Congratulations to Mr. Randy Hargett for taking 2nd place at the National Association for Pupil Transportation (NAPT) technician’s competition.
In August the Board recognized BISD’s Randy Hargett, a Texas Association of School Bus Technicians (TASBT) Master Technician, for earning first place in the Bus Technician Inspector category at the Texas competition. With the first place state finish, Mr. Hargett qualified to compete at the National competition.
This November in Columbus, Ohio bus technicians from across the nation put their skills and knowledge to the test for student safety in transportation. The bus technicians had to take a written exam and participate in hands-on events that included inspecting the inside of the bus, under the hood, and under the chassis to find out what issues were present. The inside of the bus inspection was timed to help determine the winner in the event of a tie.
John Craig, Director of Transportation Services said, “Randy is not only an exceptional mechanic, but incredible team player. He is always willing to do what is needed to help make sure our daily operations run as they should, including driving any and all routes as needed. We are so lucky to have an employee of his caliber.”
Thank you for being a great representative for Texas Association of Pupil Transportation (TAPT), the BISD Transportation department and the entire BISD Team. We are very proud of you!
