Brazoswood Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA) had an amazing weekend of competing at the Area 2 HOSA Spring Competition, with three students advancing to state which will be held April 1-3, 2020 in Galveston, Texas.
Those advancing to the state competition are:
Cecilia Espinoza - Medical Assisting, 1st Place
Prisha Dalal - CPR/First Aid, 2nd Place
Gabe Santana - CPR/First Aid, 2nd Place
Harmony Schuster placed 4th in Nursing Assisting and Destiny Basurto and Emiley Goodrich placed 4th in Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Skills. If any other competitors are unable to compete at the next level, these ladies will serve as alternates for them.
All the HOSA students have put in a great deal of practice and dedication over the last few months. Brazoswood had students participating in the following areas: Clinical Nursing, Medical Assisting, Nursing Assisting, CERT Skills (two teams), CPR and First Aid, Dental Science, and Medical Innovation.
Some of the tests had to be taken online in order to qualify for this area level and so our students beat out many participants in our very large area in order to compete in these events.
We are so proud of our students and their sponsors who put in a great deal of practice and dedication over the last few months. We are so proud of you!
