Brazosport ISD is pleased to announce three new principals to lead us into the 2019-2020 school year. Educators, David Rayburn, Tara Fulton and Dr. Tricia Tsang will soon take on their respective roles at Gladys Polk Elementary, Clute Intermediate and Lake Jackson Intermediate School. These campus leaders are excited and look forward to a productive and positive upcoming school year.

David Rayburn - Principal of Gladys Polk Elementary
David is a native of Freeport Texas who began his career as an elementary bilingual teacher then served as an assistant principal at both the Velasco and Fleming Elementary campuses in BISD. He then served as an assistant principal for Calallen High School and as the principal at East Elementary school in Calallen before realizing that his roots were in BISD, David rejoined BISD last year as the assistant principal at Freeport Intermediate and now in his new role as principal of Polk Elementary.
Tara Fulton - Principal of Clute Intermediate School
Tara graduated from the University of Houston with a Bachelors of Music and began her first teaching assignment as a music teacher at Jane Long Elementary in Brazosport Independent School District. She then obtained her Masters in Educational Management and began her administrative career as an assistant principal at Polk Elementary.
In 2014, she became the principal for Polk Elementary. Tara has led her campus from an Improvement Required status to a Nationally Recognized Professional Learning Community Model School and that title has remained for the last two years. She has now elected to follow her Polk Pandas to serve as the Principal of Clute Intermediate.
Tara serves as a member of the Texas Elementary Principals and Supervisors Association and is a member of Delta Kappa Gamma, Eta Omega Chapter of Texas. She continues to love her work and finds time to volunteer at Jim H. Green Kidz Harbor, Inc.
Dr. Tricia Tsang - Principal of Lake Jackson Intermediate School
Tricia graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education. She started her career as a first grade math and science teacher at Horne Elementary in Cypress-Fairbanks ISD and continued as a classroom teacher within the district for six years. During this time she also completed her Masters in Educational Leadership from Stephen F. Austin University as well as her Doctorate in Professional Leadership from the University of Houston Main campus.
Dr. Tsang then moved out of the classroom into administrative roles consisting of Academic Achievement Specialist and assistant principal. Dr. Tsang was nominated and awarded the Asian Educator of the Year award by the Houston Asian Chamber of Commerce for her contributions in helping the campus meet AYP both years.
During her last year as the Director of Instruction Dr. Tsang was able to celebrate many accomplishments, being named a National Model School by the International Center for Leadership in Education, receiving the Superintendent’s Silver Level Incremental Growth award, and earning their first state distinction, all while being the largest of 18 middle schools in CFISD.
