This is the image for the news article titled Pandemic Electronic Benefit Transfer Application Now AvailableThe online application for the Pandemic Electronic Benefit Transfer (P-EBT) is now open for eligible families at yourtexasbenefits.com/Learn/PEBT (URL is case-sensitive). An email will be sent to eligible families to the email on file in our Parent Self Serve system. The P-EBT call center can be reached at 833-613-6220 for assistance with the application.

Due to school facility closures related to COVID-19 concerns, Texas received approval from the U.S. Department of Agriculture to provide more than $1 billion in pandemic food benefits to families with children that have temporarily lost access to free or reduced-price school meals.

Pandemic Electronic Benefit Transfer (P-EBT) provides eligible families with a one-time payment of $285 for each child who previously received free or reduced-price meals. P-EBT works the same way Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits do and will help families get the food they need during the current pandemic.

Families can apply for these benefits through the Health and Humans Services or through an online application that will be available on June 1. Please note that the applications will NOT be available at our schools or the district office. Families currently on SNAP will receive benefits on their existing SNAP card automatically.

Once Brazosport ISD has received the link to apply we will be sharing it with our families. We are happy to share that ALL students at Freeport Elementary, Velasco Elementary, Lanier Middle, Brazosport High School, Brazos Success Academy and Lighthouse Learning qualify for the P-EBT automatically because those schools qualify and participate in CEP or Community Eligibility Provision.

Once the application is processed and verified, eligible families will receive a P-EBT card in the mail. For more information review the P-EBT flyer below. If you have questions regarding the P-EBT you can visit www.hhs.Texas.gov/PEBT
